11 b What if I don't have a smart phone for QR code access?

The Gantner GT7 readers will retain RFID (Radio Frequency Identification).

It won't be the main focus for access control as we hope to mimise cost we pass on to members, We have used RFID chips before in wristbands at £5 per band.

If we can avoid charges to members, we'd prefer that.

In the event existing RFID cards or wristbands could be reused then we will find out once Oxford IT Services and Delcom begin more detailed discussions on the hardware.

Currently the University uses a proprietaty chip, whereas Gantner, who supply our locker locks are normally open to many chips.

We can provide more detail on this when it is known.
