12. Can Car Parking vehicle registrations be captured for the parking system?

Firstly, to be clear the parking policy is under University control . Parking changes are not part of this project.

- It is possible to capture car regisrations right now on Gladstone and would be possible on Delcom. However it is not possible to reliably automate the daily transfer of that data onto the parking software provided by a different 3rd Party. Any error would land customers with a PCN, which Sports are unable to cancel.

The University Transport team however is still looking at ways to allow data transfer from the University parking permit system (Planon software) as they wish to roll ANPR out at other much busier venues . The Sports Department has expressed our desire that it maybe possible for customers that wish to avoid daily car reg validation to instead obtain a permit from Estates and that infomation would be passed to Parking eye without being handled by the Sports Department.

So yes, we could capture Car reg data is we wished, and if that became part of how our Estates team chose to manage parking in future that is useful.

For now as we it will continue to be direct input to Parking eyes own tablets, as we still have no means to pass that en-mass to Parking eye at present, so we will not collect that data field at this time.
